Philippines Overview
July 24, 2025
Feeding The Nations has begun reaching the Philippines with emergency aid. This comes as a response to the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan. Recent reports say over 12 million people have been affected, 900,000 people have been displaced, 3,600 lives have been lost and many are still missing. Those who have survived are in need of food, clean water, shelter and more.

In response, we have developed a three-phase approach in an effort to meet immediate needs, as well as future ones because we know the process of recovery will take time. We are working with eight different agencies on logistics, operations and distribution of the food. All of these partnerships are carefully chosen with integrity, efficiency and effectiveness in mind.
Phase one of the relief efforts is already under way. FTN has provided cash for Victory Christian Fellowship, an agency with a large footprint in the Philippines, so they can purchase canned meats, bottled water, biscuits, blankets, sleeping mats and more to help with immediate needs.
Phase two includes sending 560,000 vitamin-fortified rice and vegetables. We have already secured the meals and they are shipping out soon.

Feeding The Nations is also planning to send food over the next six to 12 months as recovery continues. It will take time for the Philippines to recover from this devastation, so our efforts must not only be short-term. With support, we can continue to feed and show the love of Christ to the people of the Philippines over the months to come.
