TEXAS
Update: 9-16-08
We thank God for his hand of protection during Hurricane Ike, as the World In Need staff rode out the hurricane inside the warehouse. They were told that the warehouse facility was a very safe location, and it was! Even though the eye of the hurricane passed just 10 to 15 miles east of the facility, there was no major damage. All of the food inside from Feeding The Nations and World In Need is ready for immediate distributions.
At this time there is still no electrical power in the warehouse but a generator is being installed so operations can begin. Agencies have already made contact requesting food and assistance for disaster relief.
Feeding The Nations has additional food that will be moved to Texas so we can continue to provide the supplies wherever needed.
Hurricane Ike Threatens Feeding the Nations Warehouse
Expected to make landfall late Friday, Sept. 12, Hurricane Ike is bearing down on Texas and picking up speed along the way. The projected path shows the storm could directly hit the warehouse used by Feeding the Nations in Angleton, Texas. While the structure was built to withstand 150 mph winds, Ike will test its strength and foundation. We along with World in Need have given approval for all food located in the warehouse to be used for those hit by the storm. We pray that the resources there will be able to feed and touch the lives of those in need, and that the storm may not damage that vital nourishment.

Dear Feeding The Nations,
Praise the Lord! We received the food and are blessed beyond belief! The soups, water crackers and animal crackers are especially wonderful. Thank you so much for thinking of us. We are excited about how well supplied we are for our people Christmas in our various poor colonies of Donna!
A very small amount of food went with a missionary to Mexico.
Another portion went to The Family Church, McAllen, TX
A small portion to Truth Reaching Souls (part Mexico, part USA)
A portion was given to Holy Family Services
The majority was allotted to Cross-Cultural Ministries. This will be used by us in Donna and the immediate area for our weekly feeding evangelism program as well as emergency needs in the community. Storage wise, we have one room at Holy Family Services, we now rent a storage unit about five blocks from our home, and just had a large storage shed built. It was completed just before the truck arrived! God's timing is always perfect!
We cannot thank you enough for this wonderful blessing. God bless you!
In Christ,
Nancy and Jennifer Watts
