Local Organization Reaches 13 Million Meals Milestone
SOUTH BEND, Ind. –Feeding The Nations (FTN) has now supplied the lost and hurting with over 13 million meals in 17 nations thanks to its partnerships with Feed My Starving Children and Kids Against Hunger. That total number of meals would feed the entire population of South Bend 123 times for four months, one meal per day.

Local Organization Assists First-of-its-Kind African Mother/Baby Hospital
SOUTH BEND, Ind. –Feeding The Nations (FTN) worked with Indiana University School of Medicine and Moi University School of Medicine, in Eldoret, Kenya, to provide thousands of pounds of vitamins for distribution at the new Riley Mother Baby Hospital in Eldoret—the only of its kind in East Africa. In 2008 FTN sent 17,107 pounds of pre-natal vitamins valued at $250,483 to 18 medical clinics located in rural areas of Kenya. The organization now prepares to send nearly one million children's multi-vitamins, worth $80,128. The vitamins are essential to supplement the increased nutritional needs of the mothers and children, many of whom are battling HIV/AIDS.

Cholera Flourishes in Zimbabwe, Prompts Local Response
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Stricken by a cholera outbreak, Zimbabwe struggles to find medical support and nourishment for its people. In response, Feeding The Nations (FTN) prepares to send $230,000 worth of aid. Three 40-ft. containers with 65 tons of food and vitamins are being shipped to help fight this horrific crisis. The relief will bring 650,000 meals to those in need in Zimbabwe.

Local Organization Feeds 4,000 Children for Three Years
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Steve Sumrall, president of Feeding The Nations (FTN), and Randy Souza, director, just returned from a week-long outreach trip to Lusaka, Zambia where they helped distribute 60 tons of food to 15 orphanages and schools. FTN has been supporting the facilities for the last two years, providing over 4,000 orphans and other vulnerable children with two meals a day. With three phases of the mission now completed, the organization has given a total of 200 tons of food and supplies worth $4 million. Sumrall announced the outreach would be extended another year to cover all of 2009.

Local Group at the Center of Ike Relief Efforts
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -Feeding The Nations (FTN) provides for those affected by Hurricane Ike with tens of thousands of pounds of food and supplies. When the hurricane made landfall Friday, Sept. 12, the eye of the storm passed a mere 10 to 15 miles from the warehouse where FTN stores much of its food and supplies in Angleton, TX. FTN has opened its doors to distribute all available food product and supplies housed in the warehouse to the hurricane relief efforts.

Local Group Provides Clean Water Solution for Myanmar Survivors
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -Feeding The Nations (FTN) is sending another $16,000 worth of aid to cyclone-stricken Myanmar. In May, FTN sent $25,000 to missionaries on the ground in Myanmar to purchase food and water. The most recent funds will go to purchase eight Air Mobile Ministries Voyager® Vortex water purification systems that will provide 200 gallons per hour of clean drinking water with all eight in operation- much-needed assistance as water sources have been contaminated due to dead bodies and animal carcasses. People are clinging to life in the low-lying delta areas, waterborne illnesses will emerge along with highly contagious diseases as the victims from the cyclone face many challenges finding alternative sources of clean drinking water.

Feeding The Nations Sends Relief to Quake-Stricken China
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - As China continues recovery efforts due to a devastating earthquake, the South Bend-based non-profit, Feeding The Nations (FTN), through its Finnish office sent $31,220 to provide food, water, blankets, tents and medical supplies for those affected. FTN is working with World Children's Fund to get the much-needed supplies to those who are hurting.
Myanmar Successfully Received Local Group's Assistance
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Through its Finnish office, Feeding The Nations (FTN) sent $25,000 to missionaries in Myanmar to purchase food and water to aid the cyclone-stricken country. While most American aid organizations still struggle to get into the country, FTN's assistance has already begun reaching those in need, according to missionaries on the ground in Myanmar. A reported 30 tons of rice and thousands of liters of water was given to the hurting victims in 16 districts within the first week.
Local Group Reaches Myanmar When Other Help Restricted
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -Feeding The Nations (FTN) is buying $25,000 worth of food and water to the cyclone-stricken country of Myanmar, also known as Burma. Through its Finnish office, FTN has direct contact with missionaries on the ground in Myanmar, allowing the agency to get assistance inside the country when most other American aid organizations struggle to get past Burmese officials.
Local Group Feeds Over 8,500 in Malawi
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -Feeding The Nations (FTN) blessed Malawi, Africa, with $400,000 worth of food and multi-vitamins. The canned vegetables, and vitamin-fortified rice and vegetable meals were distributed to approximately 8,500 people, while doctors and medical clinics received many of the vitamins to use with their patients.

Feeding The Nations® Responds to Haitian Food Riots, Sends Provisions
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - In the midst of food riots in Haiti, Feeding The Nations (FTN), a South Bend-based non-profit, is taking action to supply the island nation with much-needed nourishment. The organization plans to send three forty-foot containers of about 125,000 pounds of food, including assorted canned vegetables, cereals, and rice casseroles meals fortified with vitamins and minerals.

From Blankets to Homes: Local Non-Profit Supports Bangladesh
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - When a cyclone hit Bangladesh leaving over 3,400 dead and more than 20,000 homeless, Feeding The Nations (FTN), a South Bend-based non-profit organization, sprung into action. FTN immediately sent financial aid to purchase 2,525 blankets, 1,525 shawls and 1,025 big scarves - all of which were handmade by Bangladeshis in an effort to help the local economy. As the immediate needs subside, FTN has agreed to provide the funding to help restore the country by building 70 family homes.

Feeding The Nations Adopts 200 Israeli Families
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Feeding The Nations (FTN), a South Bend-based non-profit, has once again teamed with the Jerusalem-based Christian organization, Bridges for Peace, to bless 200 Israeli families with supplemental food for the entire year. Families from the towns of Beit Shemesh, Kiryat Ata, Mazkeret Batya and Yazniel will receive the provisions.

Local Non-Profit Rains Down Hurricane Relief
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Feeding The Nations (FTN), a South Bend-based non-profit organization, has sent food and supplies to the Dominican Republic to assist in the aftermath of Hurricane Noel. FTN assembled 65 tons of canned soup, green beans, potatoes, corn, mixed greens, and fortified rice and vegetable meals specially formulated for people who lack the recommended daily intake of vitamins, minerals and proteins.

Local Group Feeds Orphans in the Ukraine
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Feeding The Nations (FTN), a South Bend-based non-profit organization, recently returned from distributing $325,000 worth of food and supplies to the Ukraine. While they were there, the FTN team visited three orphanages and a women's prison, taking with them much-needed food and supplies. Though FTN has returned to South Bend, a team is still in place within the Ukraine to continue with the distribution to 15 more orphanages, two prisons and five churches.

Motorcycles Ride to Help Feed the Needy
SOUTH BEND, Ind.- Motorcyclists have joined together to "Ride to the Bridge" in an effort to raise funds for the South Bend-based non-profit, Feeding Thew Nations (FTN). On September 28 and 29, the riders will ride over 1,000 miles from South Bend to the Mackinaw Island Bridge. Donations given to the effort will support FTN's work in the Ukraine.
Feeding The Nations Sends Immediate Provisions to Earthquake Victims
SOUTH BEND, Indiana- The South Bend-based not-profit Feeding The Nations®(FTN) has sprung into action to aid and support the victims of the August 17 magnitude-8 earthquake in Peru that left hundreds dead and thousands homeless. The organization has already shipped 20 tons of food for immediate assistance.

Teens Moved by Poverty in Honduras
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -A team of 15 from Provident Ministries, Feeding The Nations, South Bend, Ind., spent part of this summer in Honduras distributing nearly $250,000 worth of food and vitamins, and having their lives forever changed. While there, they stayed at Hope Center Orphanage in the Valley of Angels outside of the capital of Tegucigalpa and helped with the orphans.

Feeding The Nations®Continues to Touch the Sudanese
SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The South Bend-based non-profit Feeding The Nations' (FTN) continuing to support of Sudan has made a difference to the malnourished refugees. FTN sent 442,000 pre-packaged rice casserole meals fortified with vitamins and minerals along with nearly 4 million tablets of children's multi-vitamins in June 2007.
Transforming the Uninhabitable: Feeding The Nations® Nourishes Sio Sio
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -The South Bend -based non-profit, Feeding The Nations (FTN), supplied essential vitamins to the malnourished people of Sio Sio, a small island off the Cameroon mainland. Sio Sio is a place where rats run rampant and diseases claim the lives of many.

Teens Sacrifice Summer for Missions
The Christ Chapel, South Bend, Ind., youth will be heading to Honduras on their summer mission trip
July 9-14. A team of 15 has signed up to help orphanages, prisons and villages in need by distributing over 60,000 pounds or $275,000 worth of food, medicine, toothpaste and blankets provided by Feeding The Nations.
