FTN and Tsunami Earthquake America Relief Services (TEARS) joined forces to offer aid to Indonesia after the latest earthquake struck it. Indonesia, the fourth largest nation in the world based on population, sits in the seismically volatile and unstable Ring of Fire. The country is made up of over 18,000 islands with some 500 volcanoes-130 of which are active. Unfortunately earthquakes and tsunamis are a too common occurrence in the region.
FTN supplied enough food to reach 4000 families living in this volatile region. Along with distributing food, TEARS also provided free medical clinics, began a Children's Feeding Program, developed the Preacher, Teacher Vocational School, and shared the message of Jesus Christ.
Thanks to this collaboration, the people of Indonesia have been fed both physically and spiritually.
2005 YEAR IN REVIEW
Rebuilding continues after the tsunami, and the people of Indonesia must not be forgotten. FTN sent five 40' containers of cereal, pasta, food bars, beans, and crackers totaling 125,000 poinds valued at $215,000.
