Feeding The Nations Sends Immediate Provisions to Earthquake Victims
South Bend, Indiana- The South Bend-based non-profit Feeding The Nations® (FTN) has sprung into action to aid and support the victims of the August 17 magnitude-8 earthquake in Peru that left hundreds dead and thousands homeless. The organization has already shipped 20 tons of food for immediate assistance.
"The people of Peru need our help as they struggle with the aftermath of this devastating earthquake," said Steve Sumrall, president of FTN. "We pray that these provisions will help them in their time of great need."
FTN's contribution includes rice, pinto beans, green beans, chicken noodle soup, vegetable soup, mixed greens, cream of chicken soup, canned turkey gravy, and animal crackers. The shipment was sent by rail to California and from there it will be loaded on a ship bound for Lima, Peru.
Sumrall continued by saying, "Though we feel called to offer such assistance, our ability to do so depends upon the generosity of others." For those who would like to help with the financial cost of providing the aid, donations can be made to Feeding The Nations at (574) 968-1566 or P.O. Box 2438, South Bend, Indiana 46680, and online at www. FeedingTheNations.org.
