Teens Sacrifice Summer for Mission

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Christ Chapel, South Bend, Ind., youth will be heading to Honduras on their summer mission trip July 9-14. A team of 15 has signed up to help orphanages, prisons and villages in need by distributing over 60,000 pounds or $275,000 worth of food, medicine, toothpaste and blankets provided by Feeding The NationsĀ®. Each teen is tasked with the responsibility to raise necessary funds to make the trip possible, and they are all working hard to be able to bless Honduras with their presence.

"We have an incredible group of teens who have stepped up and decided that they want to make a difference this summer. They are sacrificing a week for the trip, not to mention putting forth a great effort ahead of time to raise the funding necessary," said Pastor Steve Sumrall of Christ Chapel. "We are very proud of their sacrifice and determination."

The team will stay at Hope Center Orphanage in the Valley of Angels. While there, they will provide assistance to the children at the orphanage. The team will reach the surrounding areas near the capital Tegucigalpa where people live in extreme poverty with an average annual income of $920.

Christ Chapel is lead by Pastors Steve and Diane Sumrall. They meet each Sunday at 10 am at the Century Center, South Bend, Ind. For more information, visit www.ProvidentMinistries.org.
