ARIZONA
June 2007 Update
Sun Valley, AZ: Over 56,128 lbs of assorted food, over-the-counter drugstore items, toothpaste and liquid hand soap were delivered to the Southwest Native American District Church of the Nazarene for distributions to the Sun Valley Indian Christian School and churches. This food was distributed through a ten member team from Granger Missionary Church of Mishawaka, Indiana. The team travelled to Arizona to conduct a Bible school on the reservation as well as complete the building of the pastor's parsonage. Many of the products were distributed that week to the 33 churches while the remainder of the products were to be used by the school. Just days after the team left a large fire blazed through the reservation destroying thousands of acres and displacing many of the Indians living there. Because the recent food arrival those families who had been displaced along with the firefighters received provisions.
